In an update about the Family Day Obama fundraiser, it seems as though that while it will be taking place at Gwen’s Beverly Hills home, the whole band will be hosting it! This cute flier was posted on No Doubt’s official site with a blurb from the band about when they visited the White House in 2009 and 2010 and their support for president Obama. It also mentions that No Doubt will NOT be involved with official photos or meet and greets.
On Sunday August 12th, First Lady Michelle Obama will host a “Sunday of Fun” at Gwen’s home in Beverly Hills. The “Families for Obama” event will include fun activities such as face painting, bounce houses, and performances by kid musicians. Parents will also have the opportunity to bring their children to see and meet the First Lady. All funds raised from the event will support President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
No Doubt visited the White House during a tour stop in 2009 and first met the First Lady and President Obama in 2010. “We all went to the White House when we were in DC on tour and Sam, the White House chef showed us their garden and laid out the healthy eating protocol. It was all super inspiring,” says Gwen, “as was getting to meet the President and First Lady when we performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in December of 2010.” The band is excited to participate in the event as it will be a day focused on families. Tony explains, “When the First Lady asked if we could do a family oriented fundraiser for this 2012 election we were totally up for it. The First Lady’s concerns mirror those of ours as parents with young children. Please join us in supporting her efforts.”
The first group of general admission tickets is sold out. Available tickets start at $2,500 for a family of four. For an additional price, couples and families can have their photo taken with the First Lady. No Doubt and their family members will not be involved in photo opportunities or meet and greets during the event.

We would also like to take the time to encourage our BSO fans NOT to make our website, Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook a political stepping ground. The band obviously has shown their support for President Obama and that is their choice. This will be an event we will have continued news and coverage on until it occurs and while we respects everyone’s free choices in life, we do not want any negative or hateful comments concerning the band’s choice in politicians or the band themselves. All comments will be deleted and you will be banned from participating in any further discussions on our sites.
